Ceramic Sagger

Product Information
Saggers are typically made of refractory materials, primarily including mullite, corundum, alumina, cordierite, and silicon carbide. Their specific composition varies depending on their intended use. Their core function is to protect the objects from the high-temperature melt and ensure uniform firing.
Common materials:
Mullite: As a matrix material, it offers high refractory properties and is widely used in industrial saggers.
Corundum: Highly hard and corrosion-resistant, it is suitable for high-temperature environments.
Alumina: Excellent high-temperature resistance, commonly used in industrial saggers.
Cordierite: Improves the material's thermal shock resistance.
Silicon carbide: Enhances the corrosion resistance of the aggregate layer.
Magnesium-aluminum spinel: Enhances the mechanical strength of the matrix layer.
(Here we mainly introduce the mullite, corundum, alumina, cordierite, etc. that we often supply.)
Core Function:
Isolation: Protects objects from direct contact with impurities such as dust and slag in the kiln, thus preventing contamination.
Uniform heating: Reduces the risk of deformation or cracking caused by localized high temperatures, improving yield.
Extended lifespan: By optimizing the material ratio (such as adding silicon carbide and magnesia-alumina spinel), the sagger's corrosion resistance in high-temperature molten salt environments can be significantly improved, extending its service life.

The shape of the sagger depends primarily on the application and product requirements. We offer the following main shapes:
Square
Saggers are commonly used in laboratories and industrial production, suitable for high-temperature sintering and melting.
Round
Saggers are often used in precision machining applications such as electronic components and high-temperature structural parts, offering excellent uniform heating characteristics.
Special Shapes
Sagges can be customized to meet customer needs in various shapes, including curved, rectangular, and cylindrical. These are commonly used in specialized processes such as
ceramic firing and powder loading.

Mullite saggers
Mainly used for high-temperature sintering in applications such as lithium battery cathode materials, rare earth oxides, and aluminum electrolysis, they offer high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and excellent thermal shock stability. They can be used at temperatures between 1300-1600°C.
Cordierite saggers
Suitable for sintering household ceramics, architectural ceramics, and electronic ceramics. They feature a low thermal expansion coefficient and excellent thermal shock stability. Their long-term operating temperature is between 1000-1300°C.
Corundum saggers
Used for sintering specialty ceramics, electronic components, and magnetic materials, they offer excellent high-temperature resistance (1600-1750°C), corrosion resistance, and excellent thermal shock stability.
Alumina saggers
Commonly used in the firing of common ceramics, they offer high strength and thermal shock resistance, and can be used at temperatures above 1300°C.
