Light Weight Mullite Bricks
Crafted from premium Alumina (Al₂O₃) and Silica (SiO₂), our Lightweight Mullite Bricks feature a stable Mullite (3Al₂O₃·2SiO₂) crystal structure. Utilizing an advanced foaming and stabilization process, the raw materials are precisely mixed, cast, cured, and high-temperature fired to create a uniform, high-porosity insulation structure. This ensures superior thermal stability and energy efficiency for your kiln.
Common Model Classifications
1. Classification by Bulk Density
Models such as JM23-0.6, JM23-0.8, and JM28-1.0. The suffix number represents the bulk density (g/cm³), suitable for different load-bearing and thermal insulation requirements.
2. Classification by Production Process / Characteristics
Examples include foam lightweight mullite bricks (high porosity, excellent insulation), cordierite-mullite lightweight bricks (outstanding thermal shock resistance), and low-iron mullite bricks (Fe₂O₃ ≤ 0.5%, strong corrosion resistance), which meet various special working conditions.
Selection Guide
1. First, select the basic model according to the maximum operating temperature of the equipment. For example, choose JM23 for temperatures below 1300℃, and JM30 or higher for temperatures above 1500℃.
2. Consider the corrosiveness of the medium. For strongly corrosive conditions, select JM28 or higher, or a custom low-iron grade.
3. Balance load-bearing and thermal insulation requirements. Choose low-density grades for weight reduction, and high-density grades for higher compressive strength.
Features:
High refractoriness: Refractoriness typically exceeds 1600°C, maintaining stable physical and chemical properties in high-temperature environments.
Low thermal conductivity: Due to its lightweight structure, its thermal conductivity is low, typically 0.1-0.2 W/(m·K), effectively reducing heat loss and improving thermal energy efficiency.
High strength and low density: Bulk density typically ranges from 0.5-1.3 g/cm³, reducing structural weight while maintaining high strength.
Excellent thermal shock resistance: Withstands rapid temperature fluctuations, resists cracking during frequent furnace startups and shutdowns, and maintains structural stability.
Chemical resistance: Excellent resistance to acidic and alkaline slags and gases, enabling long-term use in corrosive environments.
Low impurity content: High-purity raw materials are used in the production process, resulting in a low impurity content, which reduces product contamination in high-temperature environments.
